THIS COULD COST LIVES: Is Florida cutting ADAP funding?

Last week we taped this +Talk conversation about proposed cuts to ADAP that could have put treatment at risk for thousands of people living with HIV. Since then, Florida officials have temporarily reversed the funding cuts, restoring access to medication for about 16,000 people – for now – while the state moves through a formal rule-making process.  That reversal didn’t happen in a vacuum. It happened because advocates, providers, and the HIV community spoke up – loudly. This episode reflects that moment in real time, and why vigilance still matters. Because progress has always required people showing up, pushing back, and protecting access to care. If they pause progress – we respond.
